The Temple Gift Shop has some exciting news. We now are affiliated with AHUVA.com and have a link in the Sisterhood section of the website. There will soon be a link strictly for the Gift Shop to give members updates on gift shop specials.
The temple will earn 10% of all purchases through this website. This site has everything you could possibly need for your judiac needs. When you order kippot, tallit, party favors, etc for your Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, you will help earn cash for the temple. Please use the link on the Sisterhood page in order to have your order be recognized as a Temple Emanu-El purchase. Check it out!
The Sisterhood will also become affiliated with one other website in order to give members choices for online shopping. This will be announced in the next couple of months.
In lieu of this new income producing venture and as mentioned in the last bulletin by the Sisterhood, the cosmetic facelift of the Winer auditorium, (used stage curtains or backdrop from EBay and painting of the wainscoting on the walls), would be covered by the revenues that come in from Ahuva. These are very minor enhancements that could make a world of difference and entice members to hold more functions in the Winer Auditorium. The floors are unable to be refinished since we are down to our last layer, so that would become a major renovation.

The Temple Gift Shop was topic of conversation. Many members acknowledged that the gift shop has items on the shelves that have been in inventory too long. The Sisterhood is looking into having a “Temple Yard Sale” in order move these items out and to replenish our shelves. There is also interest in on-line catalog shopping via the internet where the Sisterhood would get commission based on purchases made through our website. Remember that you can purchase Judaic items at Amazon.com through the temple’s website and HaSifriyah gets a portion of the purchase, however items are limited. If anyone has any interest in helping out with the “Temple Yard Sale”, please contact Jill Schoenberg at schjill or contact Nancy LaFleur at the temple office.
Happy Pesach!
